On 14 September 2024, the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) successfully launched the third cohort of its lecture series, “Clean Energy & Power: Moving Forward”. This initiative is designed to bring together students, young professionals, and experts from various disciplines to foster knowledge sharing on clean energy transition.

During the inaugural session, Dr Khosru Mohammad Salim, Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Independent University, Bangladesh, covered energy fundamentals, while Engineer Naznin Akter, Director, Solaric, shed light on rooftop solar systems. Dr Khondaker Golam Moazzem, CPD’s Research Director, chaired the session.
In that Lecture Series, Engr. Naznin Akhter highlights SOLARIC’s contribution towards
- Resources Development
- Stakeholder Participation in Green Transition
- World’s Largest Rooftop Solar project in Bangladesh that information sharing to attract others to go NET-Zero
This lecture series helps increase awareness among students, professionals, and the tech-professional, providing them with a deeper understanding of how clean energy can transform the power sector.
As climate change becomes an ever more pressing global issue, #renewable energy plays a critical role in reducing carbon emissions.
Technological Advancements and Innovation:
Exploring New Technologies: With advancements in solar photovoltaics (PV), wind turbines, energy storage systems, and smart grids, this lecture series can be a platform to introduce and discuss hashtag
Promoting Economic and Job Growth:
Green Jobs Creation: The renewable energy sector is one of the fastest-growing job markets globally.
Policy and Regulation:
Policymakers and stakeholders can benefit from insights gained in a lecture series. It helps bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and practical policy-making, guiding laws and regulations that support renewable energy expansion.
Cross-Sector Cooperation: A lecture series encourages collaboration between academia, industry, and government, driving innovations and aligning efforts to accelerate renewable energy adoption.
Multi-disciplinary Insights: The energy transition requires expertise in engineering, economics, #environmental science, and public policy. This lecture series fosters discussions across these disciplines to create holistic approaches to renewable energy challenges.
Sustainability Leaders: Educating future leaders is essential for continuing the momentum toward clean energy and towards advocacy roles, energy entrepreneurs, and sustainable practices within their communities.
In summary, a lecture series on clean energy and power contributes significantly to societal, environmental, and economic transformations by empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to drive renewable energy development.
