
BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) Fashion Club hosted its much-anticipated event, The Future of Fashion: Innovations, Trends, and New Looks, on 19 November 2024 at the university’s Multipurpose Hall. Bringing together students, industry professionals, and fashion enthusiasts, the event celebrated the fusion of creativity, sustainability, and innovation in fashion.
Special guests Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman of BUFT’s Board of Trustees (BoT) & Former President of BGMEA, Mr. Muzaffar U. Siddique, Founder Chairman of BUFT’s BoT, Mrs. Sharmeen Hassan, Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro VC of BUFT, Mr. Asad Sattar, Founder of Arka Studio, and others inspired the audience with their insights on sustainability and empowering young designers.
Focusing on Circular Fashion and the Concept of Longevity through Sustainable Methods, the event featured thought-provoking discussions and a vibrant fashion show. Students showcased their talents through collections in three categories: Traditional Attire, Fusion Dresses, and Evening Gowns, emphasizing sustainable practices in design. Cultural performances further enriched the day, blending heritage and creativity into the celebration. The event not only highlighted BUFT students’ creative potential but also fostered meaningful dialogue on the future of the global fashion industry, underscoring sustainability as a driving force for innovation and change
